Video is fast becoming the best way to communicate with people. It get a message across quickly and saves people time, as they won’t have to read lots of text. We sat down and thought about thing’s you should consider when creating a video ad.
#1: Don’t focus on going viral
You probably look at videos and video ads on a daily basis that people just can’t get enough of. They appear all across social media and various online news sites, you think maybe that could be your video. The likelihood of your video going viral is slim, and it comes down to a lot of luck. So don’t get too hung up on thousands of people sharing your video. Just focus on getting the basics of the video for your business right.
If you make great quality content that appeals to your target audience that could have much greater effects than a video with millions of views.
#2: Be original
Coming up with a completely new concept for you video ad can be difficult. But this is one of the best ways to grab the attention of your next potential customers.
New original ideas will inspire people and make them want to find out more about your product. Don’t get too hung up though, consider a concept that is maybe a new take on an old style of video ad.
If you still can’t come up with something don’t be too disheartened, any video ad is still better than no video at all.
#3: Plan the video for your business
Before you go about creating the video for your business make sure you plan what it is you want to achieve.
Having a plan in place will ensure you don’t go off track and create something completely different to what you had in mind. Plan the message you want to get across.
Do you have a sale you want to promote, or do you want to create a company introduction video. Whatever you want to portray, make sure the video for your business suits your message.
#4: Use Influencers
Try to make contact with people in your industry that can share your content.
Reach out to people who have a big following on social media, and who are relevant to your business. The followers of these influencers are already interested in the industry you’re in so they may be your next customer. Just note, you may have to compensate an influencer for sharing your content.
#5: Use videos on your website
Placing your video on your landing page has multiple benefits.
Using video on a landing page can increase conversion rates by 80%. Plus websites with video get ranked higher in Google search results than websites that don’t. So it’s easy to see why you should be using video on your website.
#6: Get your message across quickly
When creating a video for your business get your key message and brand into the first 5 seconds, and use those seconds to entice viewers to watch to the end of your video.
No matter where you video is placed, on social media or if you use it for a paid campaign the first 5 seconds are the most important.
#7: Don’t be afraid to use stock footage
If you don’t have content to fill you video, don’t be afraid to use stock photos or video. These are always great quality and will give your video extra professionality.
If you’re using your video to advertise on Facebook, stock images and clips get approved quicker, so you won’t be waiting for a few days to have your ad approved and you can start targeting customers sooner rather than later.
#8: Know your audience
It’s important that your video ad targets your audience correctly.
Having a great ad is no use unless it is of interest to your target market. So if you’re selling older men’s shoes, don’t have an ad that would be of interest to young women. Unless of course you think those women will buy the shoes for a friend or family member.
