Viddyad attended the Irish CEO Forum today. Some of the most innovative and disruptive companies in Ireland were represented by their CEOs. The day featured panels made up of CEOs from Dairymaster, Openet Telecoms, Quintillion and Keelings Group as well as Ronan Harris, Vice President, Customer Sales EMEA from Google Ireland and our own CEO and founder Grainne Barron.
One of the questions raised throughout the morning was how can a company create an innovative culture? The address given by Charles Leadbeater answered this with an allusion to Pixar. He explained that in Pixar, an idea can become a project and worked on because there is no ‘idea hierarchy’. People can get together and work on it, it works because it is paired with a commercial hierarchy where the best of all ideas are chosen and taken further.
CEO of Dairymaster Dr. Ed Harty said that innovation can often be like baking a cake as ‘You need to bake a cake that customers like’. Viddyad founder Grainne Barron answered questions on disruption of the video production market and partnerships, highlighting that Viddyad makes it easier for small businesses to create their own ads because of partnerships with stock companies such as Getty Images.
Some of the main points of the panels and keynotes are highlighted in the tweets below:
